Meet Jeanne Bade

New Baltimore City Treasurer

I am honored to serve as the elected City Treasurer for New Baltimore, a role I’ve held with pride and commitment since 2009. As a lifelong resident of this community, my dedication to public service is deeply rooted in both personal and professional experience.

My connection to the New Baltimore area began in childhood when my parents moved to Chesterfield from Detroit in 1976. They were the co-founders of The Voice newspapers and owners of Stahl’s Bakery.

I have been married to my husband Bill Bade for 39 years. Thirty-six of those years we have been residents of New Baltimore. Except for our first 3 years when we were stationed with the United States Marine Corps in Georgia and North Carolina. We have raised two beautiful, successful daughters that graduated from Anchor Bay Schools. They are now raising our amazing grandchildren in New Baltimore.

Our family has lived in New Baltimore/New Haven for generations. Supporting and serving the New Baltimore–Anchor Bay community is a lifelong family tradition. “Grandma (Betty) Bade” was instrumental in launching the hot lunch program at Anchor Bay Schools. She went on to run the Anchor Bay cafeterias for many years.

Our family has served the community through many different organizations over the years: the New Baltimore Police Auxiliary, New Baltimore Fire Department, Boy Scouts, Civic Club, Anchor Bay Rotary, Anchor Bay Community Foundation, Anchor Bay Chamber of Commerce, New Baltimore Literary Club, and Anchor Bay Artists. We have enjoyed many years of attending events and supporting all of these organizations.

My free time is devoted to spending time with my family. I enjoy making quilts and attending quilting retreats with many friends. I belong to the Anchor Bay Quilt Guild, where I serve as treasurer. It is an honor to be part of the Bay Area chapter of Quilts of Valor, a national organization with the mission: “To cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.”
